The Sioux Falls Area Literacy Council Provides...
One-to-One Tutoring
Our volunteer tutors understand the needs of the adult learner with limited literacy skills. They are trained in methods for adult learning and receive ongoing support from the office to help each learner meet their goals.
No Fees
The Literacy Council is a community-based agency funded by the Sioux Empire United Way and from grants, fundraisers, and private individuals. We do not charge for our services.
Resources
Through our Literacy Council library, program materials, ongoing training, and online information both tutor and learner receive many resources to help them be successful. Many of these resources are available to check out from the library or copies are available for adult learners and tutors.
Confidentiality
Only the office staff and the tutor will know the adult learner is in the program.
